Why this box exists
Hi, I'm Pawan. I made this, by hand-ish, because I got curious.
I build products for a living, and these days most of that work runs through AI. It's fast. It's genuinely useful. But somewhere along the way I noticed I'd stopped remembering how I used to do things: how I found an answer, wrote the first draft, planned a trip, or solved a problem by sitting with it for a while.
So I wanted a place to collect exactly that. Not grand nostalgia, just the ordinary way people used to get things done. The phone call to a friend who knew. The notebook. The library. The argument that went on until someone found the encyclopedia.
And if you don't have a memory to share, that's welcome too. Maybe it's more like: "I should have done this one myself." Or: "AI is quietly eating the creative side of me." Put that in the box as well. Being honest about what we're handing over is half the point.
What this is not
- It's not a business. There are no ads, no paid tiers, and nothing to sell.
- It's not anti-AI. I use it every day. This is just a place to remember the before, and notice the after.
- It's not a feed built to keep you scrolling. Read a few, remember one of your own, and go outside.
That's why the writing page won't let you paste. Type it slowly, in your own words, the way we used to.
If you have ideas for where this should go next, I'd genuinely love to hear them: drop them in the suggestion box or write to hello@takemeback.world. And if you'd like to help look after the box, become a moderator.
